Merlot

Merlot has set up on a small square like you rarely see in the city anymore. The Place du Palais has a village feel with its pedestrians, its trees and its medieval gate that opens onto the quays of the beautiful sleeping city. People eat on high stools outside, and the interior takes on the air of a chic bistro. On the plates, it ranges from great simplicity to well-placed twists. Cured meats, charcuterie and well-sourced cheeses, oysters, to remind you that the sea isn't far and small plates to share. That lunchtime: herb mayo eggs, trout gravlax, crying tiger and asparagus, stracciatella and olives. For dessert, you dip your spoon into a nostalgic made-to-order cookie. Are you really sure it's not already time for a vacation?

Coffee Tones. Five cafés, five shades.
These are places that are an integral part of everyday life. Encountered by chance along a path, visited every morning around the corner from home, tried out by word of mouth. We like them noisy or studious, indulgent, intimate, sometimes to be seen there and often to go unnoticed. If we come for the coffee, we sometimes come back for other things. Here is the club of the 5 cafés of the week in the French capital.
