Mercato Sotto il Salone
For 800 years now, this market in Padua, known throughout Italy, has been delighting locals. In fact, it is said to be the oldest covered market in Europe still in operation. Housed in a huge hall, it brings together more than 50 stalls. As you wander through the aisles, you’ll find cheese, cold cuts, meat, fish, fruit, and vegetables. Foodies take note: coffee and pastries are also available. It’s the perfect place to combine business with pleasure in a historic setting.
